I got home from a long drive home after Christmas. My BF beat me to my house, and in my mailbox was the new MS Mag. He knew any plans for spending an evening together were hopeless--we wouldn't be hanging out anytime soon. I had a mission.
I did a quick look-over, and already had a few favorites.
No pictures of near-dead hospice patients (can't seem to find that right now from last year's edition; will try to hunt down later to share).
Not all that many pictures of pets.

Next part of the plan is to check out each and every advertisement. That's what the announcements might as well be. And some were more obvious ads than others:
"The couple hopes to return to Mississippi, where Brad can continue to provide specialized care to patients with kidney disease requiring dialysis and transplant" (Coulombe-Arbogas, page A23-24).
"the bride is currently designing and developing a clothing line" (Coleman-Norman, A21-22) (note: more to come on this one).

Others are more like ads for the people who did the work at the wedding. For instance, the Griffin-Copeland wedding (A47-48) included lots of info on who designed the bride's gown. It was a "custom designed gown by 'Project Runway' designer Heidi Elnora." I've watched PR the past few seasons, but didn't recognize this name. So I had to do some searching. I wasn't sure what "Found the one" meant. Maybe it was referring to the groom, but so rarely do wedding websites give a damn about him. He's less important than the decision for what will be the "something blue". "The one" is the dress, of course. The first page had a doozie: Haleigh Stidham Blackwell (it's location has since changed, it was a 6/09 wedding). I'm not sure what Dress #2  was for. (Clearly, Haleigh is still struggling with "The One" since she has 2 dresses.) Kinda reminds me of Little Bo Peep. But in white. Was this for the Reception? So many questions.
For the best, though, you have to keep searching back to May 2007. There you will find Nicole Richter Thorp, posed with who I'm guessing is a bridesmaid. (Note: no way in hell I'd show up for a 'bridesmaid photo shoot' like this). In the birdcage are the letters "HE". I'm not sure where "LP" went, but without the last 2 letters, Bridesmaid, I know how you feel.
